A chrome strip stretching across the bottom of the front bumper further adds to the V8 charade."

The visual refresh, seen below on the blue car, comes as part of a minor update specifically for the six-cylinder GT that also adds an electric sliding sunroof and a wireless phone charger for the rear seats to the list of standard equipment. AMG says the MBUX infotainment system has also been updated with new graphics and redesigned AMG-specific displays."

Also new for the revised sixes is an optional ‘V8 Styling Package’ seen on the silver car in the gallery at the bottom of this post, though we’d argue that in some ways it looks less like the real V8 models than the new base 43 does. True, you get a new lower rear bumper section and diffuser that looks just like the 63’s (though still with four round, rather than square tailpipes), and a cutaway in the front bumper inspired by the nose on the AMG GT Black Series that tricks your eyes into thinking that the Panamericana grille extends further than it does. But the side intakes are much less aggressive than the ones on the standard car."

Regardless of which visual route you take, you’ll find the same 3.0-liter, six-cylinder powertrain under the hood of your GT 43 or 53. The mild-hybrid engine hasn’t received any upgrades as part of the 43’s refresh, meaning it still makes 362 hp (367 PS) plus a 22 hp (22 PS) 48-volt boost, while the 53 is again rated at 429 hp (435 kW) plus the same 22 hp shot of electric power."
